Discover Romania’s most dramatic mountain landscape on an eight-day trekking journey across the Făgăraș Mountains, where alpine ridges, glacial lakes, and high-altitude trails define the experience.
A High-Alpine Journey
Often referred to as the “Transylvanian Alps,” the Făgăraș Mountains offer some of the most challenging and scenic trekking routes in Eastern Europe.
This journey follows high-altitude paths, passes near glacial lakes, and reaches some of Romania's highest points, including the area around Moldoveanu Peak (2,544 m).
They are very much like the Alps, which made the French geographer Emmanuel de Martonne call them "the Alps of Transylvania", a name that has stuck to them.
