The Bucegi Mountains are located in Central Romania, south of the city Brasov. They are part of the Southern Carpathians group of the Carpathian Mountains.

The elevation range spans over 1800 m, with the highest peak at 2470 m.

The Parang mountain group is a subgroup of mountains in the Southern Carpathians. It is named after the highest of the mountains in the group, the Parang Mountains.

Retezat Mountains are one of the highest massifs in Romania, being part of the Southern Carpathians.

Rodnei is the highest massif in the Eastern Carpathians (Pietrosu Rodnei Peak- 2.303 meters). Its main ridge (50 kilometers long, 3-40 km wide) offers you a splendid panorama of all the surrounding mountains.
