Day-by-Day Itinerary

🌆 Brașov

Framed by the peaks of the Southern Carpathians, Brașov is one of Romania’s most charming and historically rich cities. Founded by the Teutonic Knights in the 13th century and later developed by Saxon settlers, it preserves the character of a medieval citadel with remarkable authenticity.

The Old Town is a blend of Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance architecture, centered around the lively Council Square (Piața Sfatului), where colorful façades and historic buildings create a distinctive atmosphere.

A visit to the Black Church reveals one of the most important Gothic monuments in Eastern Europe, known for its impressive interior and one of the largest pipe organs in the region.

🏰 Bran Castle

Perched dramatically on a rocky outcrop, Bran Castle is one of Transylvania’s most iconic landmarks.

Its towers, narrow staircases, and hidden passages create a distinctive atmosphere, often associated with the legend of Dracula. Beyond the myth, the castle offers a fascinating insight into the region’s history, architecture, and royal heritage.

Day 1 — Arrival & Transfer to Măgura Village

Arrival at Bucharest Airport, followed by a scenic transfer to Măgura, a traditional mountain village located at the edge of Piatra Craiului National Park.

Accommodation for two nights in a local guesthouse, where you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and views of the surrounding mountains.

Day 2 — Piatra Craiului National Park & Curmătura Chalet

Your first full day of walking takes you into the heart of Piatra Craiului National Park.

You begin with a short walk toward Peștera village, then continue along marked trails through open meadows and forested paths. The route gradually leads toward the base of the Piatra Craiului ridge.

A steady ascent brings you to Curmătura Chalet (1,470 m), a well-known mountain hut where you can stop for lunch.

In the afternoon, descend toward Zărnești, passing through forest and valley landscapes before returning to Măgura.
