For those eager to immerse themselves fully, the detailed itinerary below offers a glimpse into an exciting, well-organized adventure that awaits.
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Busteni
Arrive in Romania and transfer to Busteni town for accommodation.
Day 2: Trekking through the Bucegi Mountains
Take the cable car to Babele Chalet and embark on a 7-8 hour trek across the Bucegi Mountains to Poarta Village. Enjoy breathtaking views and a downhill walk of 1,700 meters—accommodation at a local boarding house in Bran Village.
Day 3: Exploring Piatra Craiului National Park
Trek through two charming mountain villages before entering Piatra Craiului National Park. After 7-8 hours of hiking (800 m uphill, 200 m downhill), reach Curmatura Hut (1,470 m) for an overnight stay in the dormitory. Accommodation is basic, with no private facilities.
Day 4: Ridge Trekking in Piatra Craiului
Spend 6-7 hours trekking the main ridge of Piatra Craiului (around 2,100 m). Experience a challenging uphill/downhill hike (600 m uphill, 700 m downhill) and return to Curmatura Hut for another night.
Day 5: Conquering the Piatra Craiului Ridge
Complete the whole main ridge trek of Piatra Craiului, reaching the highest point at 2,238 m. This 8-9-hour trek involves a 700 m uphill and 1,300 m downhill walk, with accommodation at Plaiul Foii Chalet (859 m).
Day 6: Transfer to Brasov with Cultural Stops
On your way to Brasov, visit Bran Castle, built by the Teutonic Knights, and Rasnov Fortress, dating back to 1215. Enjoy an evening walking tour of Brasov and overnight accommodation.
