Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 — Arrival in Bucharest

Arrival and transfer to your hotel in Bucharest.

Day 2 — Brașov & Wildlife Experience

Transfer to Brașov.

Explore the historic center on a guided walking tour, then enjoy a wildlife experience in the surrounding forests.

Day 3 — Sighișoara & Saxon Villages

Day trip to Sighișoara, with visits to traditional Saxon villages and Rupea Fortress.

Continue to Măgura village for a two-night stay.

Day 4 — Curmătura Chalet Walk

A full-day walk through meadows and forests leads to Curmătura Chalet, located at the base of the Piatra Craiului ridge.

Return to Măgura via a scenic circular route.

  • Elevation: +500 m / -700 m

Day 5 — Village-to-Village Walking

Walk through traditional mountain villages, including Peștera and Șirnea, continuing toward Fundata for a three-night stay.

This stage offers a strong connection to local life and open landscapes.

  • Difficulty: easy to moderate
  • Elevation: +1083 m / -890 m

Day 6 — Fundata & Surroundings

A relaxed walking day exploring the surroundings of Fundata, the highest village in Romania.

  • Hiking time: 3–4 hours
  • Difficulty: easy to moderate

Day 7 — Bucegi Natural Park

Transfer to Bucegi Natural Park.

Follow forest and meadow trails with gradual climbs and wide views. Optional detours include a nearby waterfall.

  • Hiking time: 5–6 hours
  • Difficulty: moderate

Day 8 — Seven Ladders Canyon

Explore the Seven Ladders Canyon, a narrow gorge equipped with ladders and walkways.

Return to Brașov for the final evening.

Day 9 — Departure

Transfer to Bucharest for departure.

How the Tour Works

  • Upon arrival in Brașov, you will meet your local representative and receive a full briefing, including maps and detailed route notes.
  • This is a self-guided walking experience with logistical support.
  • On most days, transfers are arranged to and from the starting or ending points of the routes (except for Days 4–6, which are designed as continuous walking stages).

🗺️ Routes & Waymarking

You will follow well-marked trails in the Carpathian hiking network, using standard symbols such as colored stripes, triangles, and circles.

On one section (between Peștera and Șirnea), signage is more limited, and careful navigation using the provided notes is recommended.

🌿 Terrain

The routes mainly follow forest paths, meadows, and rural tracks, generally with gradual elevation changes.

The Seven Ladders Canyon (Day 8) includes ladders and narrow walkways through a steep gorge. This section is optional and can be skipped if preferred.
