Day 1 — Arrival in Baia Mare
Arrival in Baia Mare, the cultural gateway to Maramureș.
Take time to explore the historic center, where medieval towers and churches reflect the town’s long history.
In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner in a scenic setting near Lake Firiza.
An optional short cycling warm-up is available.
Day 2 — Into Maramureș: Mountain Passes & Traditional Villages
Your first full cycling day begins in the mountains, crossing the scenic Gutâi Pass before descending into the heart of Maramureș.
The route combines forest landscapes, mountain views, and traditional settlements, gradually revealing the region’s authentic character.

Day 3 — Along the Iza Valley
A long but rewarding ride follows the Iza Valley, one of the most picturesque areas in northern Romania.
Cycle through villages where wooden churches, carved gates, and traditional houses define the landscape, offering a glimpse into a way of life preserved over centuries.

Day 4 — Toward Merry Cemetery
Continue through rolling countryside toward the village of Săpânța.

Day 5 — From Maramureș to Sighișoara
Transfer south across the Carpathians toward Sighișoara.

Day 6 — Saxon Villages & Biertan
Cycle through rolling hills and quiet countryside dotted with fortified churches.
Highlights include Biertan and other Saxon villages, where centuries-old architecture reflects the region’s heritage.
Finish the day in Sibiu.

Day 7 — Alpine Ride on the Transfăgărășan
One of the most spectacular days of the journey.
After a visit to the ASTRA National Museum Complex, continue toward the Făgăraș Mountains.
Cycle along the legendary Transfăgărășan, climbing through forests into alpine landscapes toward Bâlea Lake.

Day 8 — Descent to Curtea de Argeș
A thrilling downhill ride follows the southern slopes of the Făgăraș Mountains.
Pass the impressive Vidraru Dam and forested gorges before reaching Curtea de Argeș.
Transfer to Bucharest for your final night.
