A 500 km guided gravel adventure from Bucharest to Sibiu, crossing medieval Saxon villages, wild Carpathian landscapes, and UNESCO heritage sites.


Guaranteed departure: 29th of May 2026

7 cycling days, approx. 500 km, with 3,300m ascent. 
The tour starts on May 29th and ends on June 6th, including 6 cycling days.
The first cycling day starts on May 31st.
The last cycling day is June 5th.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 (May 29th): get together in Bucharest (non-cycling)
Accommodation in Bucharest.
Meals: -

Day 2 (May 30th): visit Bucharest by bicycle, then transfer to Brasov
A good opportunity to test the bicycles, to visit the city, get in touch with the local culture, meet your guides, and enjoy the city. 
The guided city tour takes 3-4 hours, with approx 25 km route by bicycle.
Transfer to Brasov in the evening. 
Accommodation and dinner in Brasov.

Day 3 (May 31st): From Brasov to Talisoara
↔77 km ↑1,000m, 
The route includes two important climbs in the second half.
Picnic lunch on the way. 
Accommodation in Tălișoara, in an old renovated manor. Dinner at the restaurant, à la carte.

Day 4 (June 1st): From Talisoara to Viscri
↔67 km ↑800m
The route includes a visit to the most recent volcano in Romania and to a medieval fortress currently undergoing renovation.
Once arrived in Viscri, free time to visit this authentic village, where King Charles owns a house and a trust dedicated to preserving local values.
Lunch in Rupea.
Accommodation in old houses, renovated as cozy guesthouses. Dinner organized by our hosts.

Day 5 (June 2nd): From Viscri to Sighișoara, single trail
↔47 km ↑600m
The 45 km single trail through the Transylvanian wilderness is already one of the „must-do” cycling experiences. 
Once in Sighișoara, we will check in and take a guided tour of the fortress, a UNESCO site.
Picnic lunch on the way. 
Accommodation in Sighisoara, in one of the hotels of the citadel.
Dinner on your own.

Day 6 (June 3rd): From Sighisoara to Stejarisu
↔40 km ↑700m
The day will take us through the Saxon villages, ending in a village that is in the center of Romania.
Picnic lunch on the way, in a traditional village.
Accommodation in Stejărișu, in the former School and Parish House, now transformed into a guesthouse and restaurant.

Day 7 (June 4th): From Stejarisu to Carta
↔67 km ↑550m
The day includes a visit to the „100 hills” region and a beautiful view over the Carpathian Mountains, before reaching the village of Carta, which hosts the ruins of the unique Cistercian Monastery in Romania. 
Lunch in Agnita. 
Accommodation in Carta.

Day 8 (June 5th): From Carta to Sibiu
↔50 km ↑500m
The final day of cycling will take us to Sibiu - the cultural city of Romania. The old city center was renovated before 2007, and it is now a very friendly area, highly appreciated by our travelers. It is a good place to finish the tour.
Lunch on the way, in Cornatel village.
Accommodation in Sibiu, in one of the hotels near the city center. Farewell dinner in the city

Day 9 (June 6th): Departure day
Transfer day to Bucharest (or another city, according to your flight schedule): Depending on your departure time, we can spend some more time visiting Curtea de Arges Monastery and Bucharest.
