DESCRIPTION & FEATURES OF THE TREKKING TOUR

Day 1. Arrival at Bucharest airport and transfer to Magura village, located in Piatra Craiului National Park. Accommodation for 3 nights at a local guesthouse, with outstanding views of the mountains. Home made dinner.

Day 2. Walk to the rustic Curmatura hut into the Piatra Craiului National Park where we will have a drink and lunch and then walk back to the guesthouse (Duration: 7 - 8 hours, medium effort, uphill/downhill walk: 400 m/600 m). In the evening BBQ at the gusethouse.

Day 3. Today we hike on the highest peak of Piatra Craiului National Park (2238 m) - depending of the weather and of the group - and than we descent on the other side of the mountain, some parts with chains, to Zarnesti. This route is for experienced tourist. (Duration: 7 - 8 hours, hard, uphill/downhill walk: 1200 m/1200 m). Home made dinner.

Day 4. Visit to the Bran Castle a.k.a Dracula's Castle. Walk in the Bucegi Mountains with splendid views of the Piatra Craiului Mountains. (Duration: 5 - 6 hours, medium effort). Transfer to Brasov. Accommodation 4 nights at a local 3* guesthouse. Dinner.

Day 5. Short transfer (approx. 20  minutes). Easy hike to the "7 Ladders" canyon from Piatra Mare Massif . (Duration: 2-3 hours, easy to medium effort). In the afternoon we will spend 3 hours in the “Parc Aventura Brasov” – biggest adventure park in Eastern Europe, located only 15 minutes driving from Piatra Mare Massif.

Day 6. Full day biking tour. (Duration: 5 - 6 hours, medium effort).

In the evening we will have the bears watching program (about 4 - 5 hours). From June to August the probability to see bears are 70-90% (so we have a chance to see them!).

Day 7. Day trip to Sighisoara. Sighisoara - the birth place of count Dracula. The town is UNESCO heritage listed and it is also known as the pearl of Transylvania. Located on the Tarnava Mare River, the town was built by Saxons between the 12th and 17th centuries. Eleven towers guard Sighisoara's walls, among them Tailors' Tower and Shoemakers' Tower.

Day 8. Transfer to the airport for departure.

Details about trekking tour:
- optimal time: May - October
- number of participants: minimum 1, maximum 14; from 12 to 14 people we have 2 mountain guides
- transportation will be chosen according to the number of participants
- mountain tour requires a good physical shape, with resistance to medium effort
- certified mountain guide during the entire trekking tour
- the route could be changed because of the weather conditions
- we can not guarantee that we will see animals (bears, deers and wolves), but we can guarantee beautiful landscapes.
- Compulsory equipment: waterproof hiking boots and clothes; warm clothes.
