A Balanced Day of Culture, Architecture, and Mountain Scenery

This is a well-paced, small-group journey designed for travelers who want to experience Romania’s royal heritage in a comfortable, informative, and enjoyable way — without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.

The focus is on high-quality guidance, meaningful context, and time to actually enjoy each location.

🧭 The Experience

Route: Brasov – Sinaia (we visit Peles Castle) - Sinaia Monastery - Cantacuzino Castle – Brasov

Sinaia Monastery

A Historic Spiritual Landmark

Located in Sinaia, the monastery was founded in 1695 by Prince Mihail Cantacuzino and is named after Saint Catherine’s Monastery on Mount Sinai.

It remains an active Orthodox monastic site and an important cultural landmark in the region.

The complex includes the original 17th-century church, later restored to preserve its historical character and artistic heritage. The monastery reflects the area's early religious and architectural history and offers a quiet contrast to the nearby royal architecture of Peleș.

Peleș Castle

A Royal Residence Ahead of Its Time

Peleș Castle was one of the first castles in Europe to be fully equipped with modern utilities, including central heating, electricity, an elevator, and running water — a remarkable achievement at the beginning of the 20th century.

Built as a royal summer residence, it reflects a rare combination of architectural elegance and technological innovation for its era.

Inside, the castle reveals an extraordinary level of craftsmanship, with richly decorated interiors, carved woodwork, paintings, and fine furnishings that reflect the artistic ambition of Romania’s royal period.

Rather than a single architectural style, Peleș brings together multiple European influences, creating a space that feels both refined and highly detailed throughout.

A Short Scenic Drive Through the Carpathians

Between castles, you’ll travel through one of Romania’s most beautiful mountain regions.

The route offers:

  • forest landscapes
  • mountain views
  • traditional towns along the way

A relaxed part of the day that connects both destinations naturally, helping you feel comfortable, unhurried, and at ease during your exploration.

Cantacuzino Castle

A Neo-Romanian Landmark with Mountain Views

Cantacuzino Castle was built as the summer residence of Grigore Cantacuzino, one of Romania’s most influential political figures of the 19th century.

Set against the backdrop of the Bucegi Mountains, the castle is known for its strong architectural identity and its connection to landscape and design.

The structure follows the Neo-Romanian style, with decorative elements that include stone details, arches, terraces, and stained-glass features. Surrounding pathways, fountains, and garden spaces add to its visual character.

In recent years, the castle has also gained international visibility as a filming location, further highlighting its distinctive appearance.

The visit is relaxed, with time for photos and independent exploration.

Small Group Experience

This tour is designed for small groups, ensuring:

  • a comfortable travel experience
  • easy interaction with your guide

Your Guide

Throughout the day, your guide provides clear, engaging storytelling — connecting architecture, history, and context in an easy-to-follow, enjoyable way that inspires curiosity and trust.

Both a beautiful & educational trip!

I had a great day on my tour to visit Peles and Cantacuzino castles. Being the slow season for tourism I was concerned they wouldn’t have the tour if no one else signed up, however they did and I was really appreciative because I really wanted to see the castles and I was leaving the next day. The company was very communicative and helpful with information. The tour guide Tiberiu was extremely nice and full of so much historical information. It was not only such a beautiful trip seeing the land and castles but made for a really valuable lesson in Romanian history. The castles are stunning and the land around them as well. Highly recommend this company for tours and when I come back to visit I will definitely book more through them. Thank you so much!

Gerne wieder!

Fantastic excursion and informative guide

The excursion was fantastic. The Peleș Castle is quite spectacular, and our guide Alex provided us with a lot of historical and contextual information. Additionally, he was very patient and kind in answering all our questions.

This visit is definitely worth it. However, it's important to be punctual in the morning to avoid the crowds we noticed as we were leaving.

Amazing trip, perfect tour guide

Amazing trip, could not have been luckier with Dan as our tour guide. He was very professional and made everything interesting and fun. Would highly recommend. If we would change anything we would maybe skip Cantacuzino castle, but everything else was very interesting to see.
