The Lotrului Mountains
The Lotrului Mountains are a mountain group of The Sureanu - Parang - Lotrului Mountains belonging to the mountain chain of The Southern Carpathians, having the highest peak in Steflesti Peak, with a 2.242-meter height. The Lotrului Mountains are made from a variety of crystalline schists that form the Getic web. The glacial relief is less developed, but brings a special note to the whole landscape. It is represented by some Pirin-type glacial circs, formed at the head of preexisting valleys, concentrated in the Piatra Alba - Contu Mare peaks. Tourism activities that can be practiced in the Lotrului Mountains include tourist trails, hiking, climbing, off-road.
