Join us for six days of adventure as we explore three majestic mountains in Transylvania: Piatra Mare, Bucegi, and Piatra Craiului National Park. Additionally, we'll take a day trip to Sighisoara, known as the "Pearl of Transylvania" and the birthplace of Count Dracula.

Day 1. Arriving in Transylvania: A Warm Welcome in Pestera Village
Arrive at Bucharest Airport and transfer to Pestera Village. Stay for two nights at the oldest guesthouse in Piatra Craiului National Park. Enjoy panoramic mountain views from dormitory-style rooms that offer a cozy atmosphere amidst nature’s beauty.
Day 2. Trekking Through Piatra Craiului – Scenic Villages and Alpine Meadows
After breakfast, we venture into Piatra Craiului National Park, trekking through traditional mountain villages. Along the way, you’ll encounter a rich variety of alpine flowers, including the Carpathian Iris. Return to the guesthouse for another relaxing evening.
Duration: 5-6 hours, easy to medium difficulty, 500 m uphill/downhill.
Day 3. Curmatura Hut Trek and Prapastiile Zarnestilor Gorges
We begin the day with a trek to Curmatura Hut, followed by a visit to a sheep farm and a walk through the spectacular Prapastiile Zarnestilor gorges.
Duration: 6-7 hours, medium difficulty, 700 m uphill/downhill.
Afterward, we transfer to Zarnesti, where we’ll stay for the next four nights at a cozy guesthouse.
Zarnesti was once made famous by the “Large Carnivore Project,” which focused on bears, wolves, and lynx in Romania.
Day 4. A Glimpse into Legend: Dracula’s Castle and the Bucegi Mountains
Visit the famous Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Castle, and immerse yourself in its mysterious history. Then, enjoy a scenic hike in the Bucegi Mountains with views of Piatra Craiului.
Duration: 5-6 hours, medium difficulty.
Day 5. "7 Ladders" Canyon Hike and Bear Watching
Embark on a hike through the stunning "7 Ladders" Canyon in the Piatra Mare Massif, followed by a thrilling bear-watching experience.
Duration of the hike: 6-7 hours, medium difficulty, 800 m uphill/downhill.
From June to August, there’s a 70-90% chance of spotting bears in their natural habitat.
Day 6. Step Back in Time: Discovering Sighisoara, the Pearl of Transylvania
Take a day trip to Sighisoara, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the birthplace of Count Dracula. Explore its medieval charm, including the historic towers and winding streets.
Distance: Zarnesti to Sighisoara – 147 km.
Day 7. End of Adventure: Transfer to the Airport
After breakfast, transfer to Bucharest for your departure, taking with you unforgettable memories of Transylvania’s natural wonders and rich history.
